EXPERTS FOR WHAT?

Published by chefrbme2 at 8:47 am under Uncategorized Edit This

This one really takes the cake folks. The Today Show, NBC, is reporting, as are others, the incident where four women find they are being feted by one man. He is the husband of one of the four. The four get their heads together and decide to teach him a lesson he won’t soon forget. They do so by luring him to a motel room, blindfolding him and tying him to the bed posts. They then taunt him, and super glue his penis to his right leg.

First things first. The guy is a schmuck and should be taught a lesson. Who, in law enforcement would do so? No one simply because there apparently are no laws against being a schmuck. The women could have, and perhaps should have, taken a different approach by public embarrassment and ostracizing him socially. However they chose a path that led to their arrest and being charged which could result in prison time for them along with lifelong records.

What really amazes me is the response of the media. Normally this would have been a page eight story in one paragraph near the ads for the local mortuary. Today chose to feature it and even called in the experts to analyze the entire matter. How stupid can they be?

This entire matter of calling upon the experts has gone too far. Every network uses this method to stretch out a story. Generally all the experts talk at once seemingly thinking what they have to say is most important. The moderator/anchor generally ask earth shattering questions such as: “but don’t you think”……” Obviously they don’t otherwise they would not lower their professional standing by appearing on the show as an expert on such matters.

This silliness has gotten to the point where I imagine soon we will have Al, Matt, Meridith and the gang on the Plaza finding people breaking wind. Al can hold the microphone down to their butt to get the full depth of the gas as it explodes from them. Then Meridith can tell us: “Coming up on Today we’ll consult our experts as to how this happens and why”. The experts will no doubt delve into all the analysis possible to determine how, why and what impact this may have upon us. Meridith can ask: “could this possibly be from something other than what they ate”? Expert: “Of course, there are many reasons leading to the expulsion of gas from one’s person. Stress is a major player in this.” The next expert can chime in: “I don’t think it’s a matter of stress I think it’s a combination of factors involving their diet, standing in one position on the plaza for a long period of time and their genetics.” Cut to Matt: “Coming up tomorrow on Today we’ll look at how this impacts others around those that participate in such behavior. Our experts will analyze their reactions and why they react as they do.”

The Today Show does not need this type of programing. They have allowed themselves to get caught up in the fever that is sweeping our society of calling upon an expert to give us insight. In fact they are doing nothing of the sort. They simply are wasting time and fluffing up a story. This is nothing more than total absurdity. I am sure they can now have another story to call their experts in on. Today looks at why we call on experts. Stay tuned our panel of experts explain.
