LET’S KEEP PUSHING
Once more we have seen a week of pushing the envelope and total silliness flash across our television screens, blare from our radio and wash across our newspaper pages. All television networks are exposing themselves with new reality shows and claiming they are a hit. Lovely, just came out and already a hit? The David Letterman crap, Rush Limbaugh crap, and more poo poo about Jon, Kate and Eight. Not to be outdone there is the silly, absurd Balloon Boy story from Colorado.
It is not yet Halloween and we are already hearing about the Christmas shopping season. Travel costs are up tremendously. Costs for nearly everything is up yet we continue to hear the economy is turning around. The President is attempting to bribe senior citizens by offering a one time $250 stimulus to replace the COLA (Cost Of Living Allowance) for each of the next two years on Social Security. As a diversionary measure the President is also pointing a finger at insurance companies as being the culprit now in his losing battle for getting approval of his health care plan proposal. People are dying at a so called Sweat Lodge in Arizona as a result of following some loony money hungry fools philosophy.
There is so very much more stupidity to report on that does not make front page headlines. The government is spending more to create jobs than the jobs pay. Why not simply pay what it costs? Unemployment continues to rise as does the cost of it. Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton continue to make headlines yet both seem to not be doing anything. Nothing new there. Fox News Network continues to eliminate more and more of our picture as they stick with their idiot letterbox approach and cover up more and more with logo’s, tickers, and self promotions. I don’t know if anyone but me has noticed but MSNBC is offering better coverage with less on screen trash that covers our picture. CNN’s HLN continues to go down the tube with constant reruns and panels and FOX continues with Glenn Beck looking and acting more like a cartoon character.
So it is time for all the holiday madness to heap upon us and we will be caught up in the season and pay less attention to what truly is important. Perhaps next year we may mature and realize that we are pushing the envelope too much and for no reason.
